Junior Equity Analyst

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

The successful candidate for Junior Equity Analyst will play an integral role in supporting a research franchise of 15-25 companies in a given research vertical. Supporting the Senior Analyst in publishing high-impact, institutional quality equity research and servicing the existing client base. Developing a fluency in said research vertical and covered companies to effectively communicate and defend an investment thesis to institutional and hedge fund clients. Generation of unique investment insights through high-level industry contact development. The Junior Analyst position is designed to prepare the individual for a Senior Analyst position with full coverage responsibilities in approximately three years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Becoming trustworthy steward of the research franchise by understanding and communicating (both internally and externally) the key drivers of industries and stocks under coverage.
  • Developing relationships and speaking with high level industry contacts weekly/monthly and using given insights to form investment opinions which are the basis of our bi-weekly research publications.
  • Writing thought-provoking industry surveys and/or topical stock specific deep-dives with the assistance of a Senior Analyst. The Junior is also responsible for publishing on quarterly earnings releases, M&A, initiations, industry/stock data points, etc.
  • Managing a database of Excel based earnings models and industry data. Junior Analysts are typically responsible for updating numbers, changing estimates, building new spreadsheets, etc.
  • Speaking with the internal salesforce and external investment clients about daily market movements, the franchise research product, and industry/stock trends.
  • Attending Analyst Days, plant tours, industry conferences, NDR’s, LBR Conferences.
  • Over time, the Junior Analyst is expected to essentially become an extension of the Senior Analyst.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have an MBA from a recognized business school. A background in investment research and a CFA designation are preferable, but not a necessity.
  • The candidate must be highly driven to succeed, yet capable of contributing within a team environment to the success of his/her peers. A keen interest in the stock market is a prerequisite.
  • Compensation consists of (i) a base + bonus arrangement typical of the position and competitive with current Wall Street levels and (ii) a generous benefits package. Email contact only please.

ASSOCIATE ANALYST

The successful candidate for Research Associate will play a key role in furthering the success of a research franchise through multiple avenues of contribution to client needs and the research investment narrative.  A successful Associate will continue to develop client-focused proprietary market research; evaluate global trends; participate in conference calls, analyst conferences, and industry seminars; speak with senior management of companies under coverage; write/convey research insights; and create/maintain financial models.  The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university with a concentration in finance.  A background in investment research and progress toward a CFA designation are preferable, but not a necessity.  The candidate must be highly driven to succeed, yet capable of contributing within a team environment to the success of his/her peers.  A keen interest in the stock market is a prerequisite.  Email contact only please.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

We are looking for established Senior Equity Analysts with a minimum of three years of recent sell-side experience and extensive buy-side references.

The Analyst will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of fundamental research within their sector group of approximately 15-18 names
  • Creating and maintaining company and sector models
  • Maintaining an investment thesis on each company under coverage
  • Actively monitoring coverage companies and communicating change in a timely manner
  • Developing Alpha-generating investment ideas within this coverage group
  • Publishing morning notes and more detailed company reports on a regular basis
  • Maintaining professional relationships with coverage company management teams and, from time to time, facilitating meetings between management teams and institutional investors
